Exam Scandal Alert: WAEC Flags Over 100 Secondary Schools for Suspected Malpractice; See Names of School Affected

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has issued an official statement concerning the withholding of results for certain candidates who participated in the May/June 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
This action follows preliminary findings of suspected examination malpractice involving several schools across the country. In line with WAEC’s standard procedure, the results of candidates from the listed institutions are currently under review, pending full investigation.
What This Means: School heads of the affected institutions are required to report to the WAEC Zonal Office in Lagos within 10 working days of this announcement to assist with the investigation.

REQUIRED ACTION: All school principals whose schools are listed are expected to present themselves before the WAEC Investigative Panel no later than August 16, 2025. They should come prepared with necessary documentation and candidates’ exam materials, if available.
