Family Ties, Drug Lies: Lagos Couple, Daughters, Friend Nabbed With Over 500kg of Cannabis
Family Ties, Drug Lies: Lagos Couple, Daughters, Friend Nabbed With Over 500kg of Cannabis”
It Wasn’t Just a Home—It Was a Drug Hub
What looked like a regular household in Lagos turned out to be the headquarters of a well-coordinated drug business—run by a husband, his wife, their two daughters, and even a family friend.
The Department of State Services (DSS) and operatives from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) stormed the Ojo area on Friday, June 13, and arrested Ajah Johnson Uchenna and his wife, Rosemary. Inside their possession? A shocking 277.5 kilograms of skunk—a potent, high-grade cannabis.
But the story didn’t end there.

Busted, But Business Kept Running
Even while the couple sat in custody, the drug trade didn’t stop. Fresh intel hinted that the show was still going on—right from their home. So, on Tuesday, July 1, NDLEA agents went back, this time hitting the family house and a neighboring storehouse used as a stash and supply center.
The second raid uncovered another 231kg of skunk, raising the total to 508.5kg. But this time, it wasn’t mom and dad—they caught their daughters, Stella and Ngozi, alongside a family friend, Okoro Elijah, actively handling operations.

NDLEA: This Was a Family Business, Not Just a Crime
“This wasn’t just drug trafficking—it was a family business,” an NDLEA official said. “They had clear roles, coordination, and a supply system in place. This is one of the biggest family-run drug setups we’ve seen.”
All five suspects are now in custody and will face multiple charges, including trafficking and conspiracy.

No Mercy, No Exceptions
The NDLEA has made it clear: bloodlines don’t buy immunity. The agency vowed to trace every link and collaborator connected to the operation—no matter where they are hiding.
The streets of Lagos just lost one more cartel—but the war is far from over.
