Fanimokun Celebrates Egboro Day in Ijebu Ijesa, Honors Community Unity and APC Leadership

Mr. Fanimokun Samuel Ibikunle, an aspirant for the Oriade State Constituency seat under the All Progressives Congress (APC), has offered heartfelt congratulations to His Royal Majesty, Oba Engr. Moses Oluwafemi Agunsoye, and the people of Ijebu Ijesa on the successful observance of Egboro Day. The annual festival, celebrated today, is a cherished tradition in Ijebu Ijesa, showcasing the community’s rich cultural heritage through vibrant displays and communal celebrations.

 

In his message, Mr. Fanimokun lauded Oba Agunsoye’s exemplary leadership in preserving the cultural essence of Ijebu Ijesa. He emphasized that Egboro Day is not only a celebration of the region’s history but also a reminder of the unity, strength, and pride that define the Ijebu Ijesa people.

 

The aspirant also reflected on the significant role of traditional festivals like Egboro Day in fostering core values of respect, solidarity, and cultural pride. He expressed hope that the celebrations would further strengthen the community’s sense of belonging and inspire continued growth and harmony in Ijebu Ijesa and neighboring areas.

 

Beyond his reflections on the festival, Mr. Fanimokun conveyed his deepest condolences to Chief Ajewole (Golo), the APC Local Government Chairman, on the passing of his father-in-law, whose final rites were held today in Eree Ijesa. He extended his sympathy to the family, acknowledging the deep significance of family ties and the importance of community support during moments of grief.

 

Mr. Fanimokun also praised Chief Ajewole’s influential role within the APC, highlighting his commitment to the party’s ideals and his efforts to unite and advance the local government area. He recognized Ajewole’s tireless contributions to strengthening the APC’s presence and supporting community development.

 

The aspirant took the opportunity to commend the people of Ijebu Ijesa and Eree Ijesa for their steadfast dedication to maintaining cultural and family values. He encouraged the younger generation to look to such traditions and ceremonies for inspiration, urging them to embrace their cultural heritage and actively contribute to the well-being of their communities.

 

Reaffirming his commitment to the Oriade State Constituency, Mr. Fanimokun pledged to advocate for initiatives that promote cultural preservation, family unity, and community development, with a focus on creating a stronger, more prosperous constituency for all.
