FCT Police Uncover Massive Fraudulent Operation: 149 iPhones and 109 ATM Cards Seized

In a significant operation, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has uncovered a large cache of illicit items, including 149 iPhones and 109 Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards, believed to be linked to a sophisticated fraudulent network operating within Nigeria’s capital.

The operation, which took place in Abuja, also led to the recovery of several Point of Sale (POS) terminals and other electronic devices, indicating the scale and sophistication of the syndicate’s activities. The seized items are suspected to have been used in various forms of cybercrime, including identity theft and unauthorized financial transactions.

The police have not disclosed the identities of the suspects arrested in connection with this operation, citing ongoing investigations. However, they have assured the public that efforts are underway to dismantle the network and bring all involved parties to justice.
This discovery underscores the growing concern over cybercrime and financial fraud in Nigeria, prompting calls for enhanced security measures and public awareness campaigns to combat such activities.
The FCT Police Command has urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities. They have also advised the public to exercise caution when sharing personal information online and to ensure that their financial transactions are conducted through secure and verified channels.
As investigations continue, the FCT Police remain committed to safeguarding the public from cyber threats and ensuring that those responsible for such crimes are held accountable.
