FG Raises NYSC Monthly Allowance to 77,000 Naira

The Federal Government has officially raised the monthly allowance for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members from 33,000 naira to 77,000 naira.
According to a statement from Caroline Embu, the acting director of press and public relations for NYSC, this increase aligns with the recently enacted National Minimum Wage (Amendment) Act of 2024.
The announcement was made in a letter from the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission, dated September 25, 2024, and signed by Chairman Ekpo Nta.
Brigadier General Yusha’u Ahmed, the NYSC Director General, expressed gratitude to the federal government for this timely decision. He noted that the increase will provide much-needed support for corps members and enhance their morale, encouraging them to contribute even more during their service.
Previously, General Ahmed had visited the commission’s chairman to advocate for better welfare packages for corps members.
