Former beauty queen and social influencer Queenette Awukam has launched a new YouTube vlog, “Queen Mother’s Playbook,” designed to give people a platform to share their personal struggles and concerns.

Awukam, who was crowned Cross River Most Beautiful Girl in 2015/2016 and made the top 15 in MBGN 2016, also founded The Queenette Awukam Foundation. She began the vlog by recounting her own experience of being molested by a teacher during her childhood.

As a mental health advocate and author, Awukam created this platform to highlight issues like social injustice, gender-based violence, and other forms of harm. She aims to provide a space where victims can express their emotional and psychological pain.

In announcing the launch of “Queen Mother’s Playbook,” Awukam shared her motivation for the project. She emphasized the importance of allowing individuals to voice their experiences, which can be both psychologically and emotionally freeing.

“Many people carry heavy burdens silently, smiling through their pain. We need to give them a chance to share their stories and find relief,” Awukam said in Abuja. “I was molested by my teacher at age 8 and felt unable to speak out. There are many others like me who need a listening ear.”

The weekly program will be available on her YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook pages. Awukam is seeking support from individuals and organizations to help amplify the voices of the oppressed and offer them solace.
