Former Rivers Gov, Odili Reassures Fubara: ‘No One Can Shake You’
Former Rivers State Governor Peter Odili has reiterated his support for Governor Siminalayi Fubara, emphasizing that the projects undertaken by Fubara’s administration will secure the people’s backing in the 2027 election.
During the inauguration of the Omoku-Egbema Road on Saturday, Odili encouraged Fubara not to fear opposition, assuring him that the people of Rivers State are firmly behind him. Odili, who served as governor from 1999 to 2007, advised Fubara to stay focused on his “people-centered objectives.”
“Don’t be afraid because when the people are with you, be assured that God is with you and no man can shake you,” Odili said.
Fubara has been in a prolonged conflict with his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, over the past year. In April 2024, Wike, now the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), stated that his relationship with Odili, whom he once called his “father,” had deteriorated. Wike governed Rivers State from 2015 to 2023 before his appointment as minister by President Bola Tinubu.
