Freedom at Last: 27 Kidnapped Passengers Rescued by Army in Benue

In a major victory against criminal activities in Benue State, the Nigerian Army has successfully rescued 27 passengers who were abducted by suspected kidnappers along a highway. The daring rescue operation has been hailed as a sign of renewed hope for residents living in fear of rampant abductions.

According to military sources, the victims were traveling in commercial vehicles when they were ambushed by armed men who forced them into the forest. Security operatives, acting on intelligence, swiftly mobilized troops and launched a coordinated operation that led to the rescue.

One of the rescued victims, who spoke under condition of anonymity, described the ordeal as “terrifying,” adding that they were uncertain if they would ever see their families again. “We thank God and the soldiers who risked their lives for us,” the victim said, fighting back tears.

Military authorities reassured the public of their commitment to restoring safety across highways and communities in Benue and beyond. They further urged citizens to remain vigilant and provide timely information to aid security operations.
