Gambling: Burial Photos Of Onoh Chukwuma Who Committed Suicide After Losing ₦2.5M football Betting
Mr. Onoh Chukwuma Richard, the young man from Ututu, Abia State, who committed suicide after losing a sports betting worth N2.5m naira has been laid to rest in a very mild burial, a friend of the deceased confirmed to DAILY INDEPENDENT on anonymity.

The friend said the deceased was buried in the night of Wednesday, December 13, 2023. According to him, the death of Onoh Richard was one that had remained painful among his friends and family members.
Sharing a picture of the lifeless body of Onoh while at the hospital, the friend wrote: “Untold stories of unimaginable willingness to assist you would be told by folks who ignored your cry for help, just the moment you are gone.
People would rather buy you expensive drinks than give you quality financial assistance, even when they have the means to do so. Except you haven’t been down, you may not understand the pains of loneliness, depression, disappointment and total dejection.
”You’ll watch people spend millions lavishly but deny you just a thousand. You’ll question your sanity and feel God left you already.
“Only the word of God and having true knowledge of who he is, will save you each time the devil whispers his evil plans in your head.
“We’re all fighting a demon. If you’ve got the means, please help in any way you can. Don’t withhold your grain; it could just save a life.
“This was the moment Onoh Chukwuma Richard gave up after taking his own life. I believe the government should set policies that’ll truly regulate sports betting and other related gambling services in Nigeria.”
