Gbajabiamila Reveals Shocking Decision: 2025 Lagos LG Elections Will Exclude LCDAs

Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu and former Speaker of the House of Representatives, has confirmed that the upcoming 2025 local government elections will not include Lagos State’s 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs).
Gbajabiamila made this announcement on Saturday during his address at the general assembly of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Surulere, held at the Indoor Hall of the Teslim Balogun Stadium.
He revealed that the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), the party’s top decision-making body in Lagos, has endorsed the new structure for the state’s local government elections.
Under the revised arrangement, the 37 LCDAs will continue to function together, with further details expected to be outlined by the party.
In addition, Gbajabiamila briefly addressed rumors surrounding his potential candidacy for the governorship position in Lagos.
