How Gunmen Kill 7 Community Leaders in Imo

Last night, gunmen attacked the Umucheke Okwe autonomous community in Onuimo Local Government Area, Imo State, killing seven prominent figures, including President General Hyginus Ohazuruike and six village heads.

According to sources, the leaders were meeting at Ohazuruike’s residence when a vehicle arrived at high speed. Armed assailants emerged and, without warning, opened fire, killing all seven men in a matter of minutes before fleeing the scene.
Emeka Obi, the sole administrator of Onuimo Local Government Area, confirmed the incident and stated that efforts are underway to restore order in the community.
