How Okuama Community President-General Dies in Military Custody

Pa James Oghoroko, the President-General of Okuama Community in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State, has reportedly passed away while in military detention, according to FIRST CLASS GISTS.
Oghoroko was apprehended between August 18 and 20, 2024, alongside other prominent community leaders, including Prof. Arthur Ekpekpo, Chief Belvis Adogbo, and Pa Dennis Okugbaye, following a violent clash that resulted in the deaths of 17 soldiers. The military’s subsequent actions led to the arrest of the community leaders.
Outraged by the arrests, the Okuama community filed a lawsuit against the Nigerian Army, seeking N100 million in compensation for illegal detention. During a recent court session on November 20, 2024, the Federal High Court had postponed the bail hearing for the detainees until December 9, 2024. Tragically, Pa Oghoroko passed away just days
