How Soldier Was Arrested with ‘Canadian Loud’ in Lagos Barracks
A soldier, Lance Corporal Sani Aminu, has been apprehended by the Nigeria Police Force in Lagos for possession of a substance suspected to be Canadian Loud, a potent synthetic strain of cannabis.
Aminu, whose service number is 13NA/70/11481, was arrested on Wednesday within the Lagos State area.
According to a police report obtained by SaharaReporters, the arrest took place around 8pm when a patrol team, led by ASP Alex Dung, intercepted the soldier, who is stationed at Abalti Barracks in Surulere.
The report indicated that Aminu was detained after being found in possession of the illicit drug, which was suspected to be Canadian Loud. He is expected to be transferred to the Commissioner of Police Tactical Squad 1 for further investigation.
The police statement read, “SITUATION REPORT: ARREST OF MILITARY PERSONNEL – TODAY 15/01/2025 AT ABOUT 2015HRS, PATROL TEAM LED BY ASP ALEX DUNG ATTACHED MINE INTERCEPTED AND BROUGHT TO THE STATION L/CPL SANI AMINU, ATTACHED TO ABALTI BARRACKS SURULERE, WITH SUBSTANCE SUSPECTED TO BE CANADIAN LOUD. SUSPECT WILL BE TRANSFERRED TO CP TACTICAL SQUAD 1 FOR FURTHER INVESTIGATION. SUPOL 74 ORILE-IGANMU.”
The soldier’s case is now under investigation by the police.
