Igniting Change: The Rescue Movement Launches in Rivers State to Build a New Nigeria
A powerful wave of socio-political reform is taking root in Nigeria, driven by the passion and determination of its youth. The Rescue Movement for a New Nigeria, championed by the Rescue The Vulnerable Initiative, recently held a pivotal event in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, marking a significant step in its national outreach.
This dynamic organization is committed to empowering marginalized and underrepresented Nigerians through access to knowledge, resources, and platforms that enable them to take charge of their futures. At the heart of the movement is a bold vision: to reshape the nation’s political narrative through inclusive leadership and equitable opportunities.
Speaking at the event, Director-General Martins Chiedozie Ugwu emphasized the group’s innovative approach. “We’re here to do things differently,” he stated. “Our philosophy centers on equitable wealth distribution and collective empowerment, ensuring that even the most vulnerable have a voice in shaping Nigeria’s future.”
Ugwu called on Nigerians, especially the youth, to join the movement, highlighting that united efforts can lead to lasting transformation. “Together, we can build the Nigeria we all dream of—where every young person has the tools and freedom to shape their own destiny.”
The Rivers State chapter, under the leadership of Comrade Asito Asito, has pledged to spread this vision throughout the region. Asito expressed appreciation for the trust placed in him and vowed to amplify the movement’s message to inspire a new generation of engaged citizens and leaders.
Already making waves on the national stage, the Rescue Movement has supported young candidates in recent elections, including its presidential hopeful, Faduri Joseph (popularly known as Fadojoe), whose leadership is seen as a beacon of hope for the country’s transformation.
With youth at its core and a mission rooted in empowerment and equity, the Rescue The Vulnerable Initiative is poised to become a driving force in Nigeria’s journey toward renewal and progress.
