ILERIOLUWA FACTION OF OSUN APC SETS TO COLLABORATE WITH AREGBESOLA ADC
As pressure continues to mount on Osun APC about the imminent defection of Governor Ademola Adeleke to the party on the instruction and endorsement of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a prominent faction of Osun APC, the Ilerioluwa caucus seems to have concluded plans to disobey the President.
In a sudden twist of event, the Ilerioluwa caucus is considering supporting the eventual candidate of the new coalition party ADC in the state headed by Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, the former Osun State Governor and now political arc rival of President Tinubu.
In a recent post by one Olaore Taiwo, an ex media aide and political follower of former governor Oyetola, he affirmed that what they intend to do is to emulate the political action of Mr. Wike by remaining in the APC and work for the major opposition’s candidate. This was followed by an affirmative comment from one “Sogo Omo Osun” an ex Secretary of Ayedaade local government who recently got a permanent employment into the Nigeria Shippers Council facilitated by Mr. Oyetola, the current Minister of Marine and Blue Economy.
There is no indication that Mr Oyetola has cautioned them against the open affront on the decision of President Tinubu of having Governor Adeleke in the APC, fueling insinuation that he may tactically be in support of their open disloyalty to the President.
It now remains to be seen if this plot will sit down well with the President that members of his own political party are warming up to the idea of arming the growing opposition’s coalition ahead of the 2027 general election and most especially, the reality of having some members of Osun APC working with Ogbeni Aregbesola whose political disagreement with the President originated from Mr. President’s decision to side with the Ilerioluwa caucus ahead of the 2022 governorship election in Osun.
