Imo State Police Take actions Against IPOB Sit-at-Home Order
The Imo State Police Command has mobilized security personnel to conduct patrols and assert a strong presence across all 27 Local Government Areas in the state, ensuring public safety and stability.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the Public Relations Officer of the Imo State Police Command, Henry Okoye, announced that the security operatives include members from the Police, Military, Civil Defence, Road Safety, Immigration, and Fire Service.
Commissioner of Police Aboki Danjuma urged law-abiding residents to ignore the unlawful three-day sit-at-home order issued by the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed wing, the Eastern Security Network (ESN). He encouraged residents to continue with their daily activities without fear of intimidation.
The Commissioner assured the public that the Police Command, in collaboration with other security agencies, has implemented robust security measures to counter any threats posed by insurgent groups.
The Police Command also issued a stern warning to those considering enforcing the illegal sit-at-home order, stating that any attempts to disrupt the state’s peace and security would be met with the full force of the law.
Commissioner Danjuma called on the people of Imo State to remain vigilant and report any suspicious individuals or activities to the nearest police station promptly.
