Former Minister of Aviation, Chief Osita Chidoka, has shared his observations following a recent visit to the JAMB headquarters. Invited by JAMB’s Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, Chidoka joined a group of key stakeholders—including Education Commissioners, university Vice Chancellors, PTA representatives, IT professionals, and chief examiners—for an in-depth assessment of the 2025 examination process.

Speaking through the Athena Centre, Chidoka noted that his team had received numerous requests to comment on the recently released JAMB results. He emphasized the importance of grounding such discussions in verified facts rather than speculation, which is why he had held off on making any public statements until reliable information was obtained.

“What I encountered during the review session was very reassuring,” Chidoka stated. “JAMB has taken notable steps to ensure transparency and accountability amid public concerns. I was particularly encouraged by their forthright handling of the technical issues reported in Lagos and the South East. Their openness reflects a strong institutional commitment to integrity.”

Chidoka detailed how the review included the physical re-marking of randomly selected exam scripts—an intensive but essential step that highlighted JAMB’s pursuit of accuracy and fairness.

He also mentioned that, through the Arthur Nwankwo Institute, the Athena Centre has submitted a Freedom of Information request to analyze a decade’s worth of past JAMB results in comparison with the current year’s data.

Based on his experience, Chidoka urged candidates affected by discrepancies to remain patient, assuring them that formal communication from JAMB would be forthcoming.

He concluded by emphasizing the need for accountability in public institutions and praised individuals like Alex Onyia, CEO of Educare, for championing fairness in the education sector.

“Our progress as a nation depends on active citizenship, vigilant institutions, and a shared commitment to truth,” he said. “Let’s strive for a society where facts guide our actions and reforms are rooted in integrity.”
