KAI Raids Styrofoam Warehouse in Mushin
KAI Raids Styrofoam Warehouse in Mushin
By Gbenga Oloniniran

On Tuesday, operatives from the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps, known as KAI, raided a styrofoam warehouse located at Ojuwoye Market in Mushin.
Tokunbo Wahab, the state Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, disclosed that the warehouse owner had brought in the banned styrofoam early that morning.
In January, the government announced a ban on the use and distribution of styrofoam and other single-use plastics throughout the state. Styrofoam, commonly used for manufacturing disposable plates, was banned due to its non-biodegradable nature and the environmental damage it causes.
Updating the public via his X.com handle, Wahab stated, “Based on intelligence gathering, KAI operatives discovered a styrofoam warehouse at Ojuwoye Market in Mushin. The owner brought the banned styrofoam to the market early today (Tuesday). The products have been confiscated and taken to the KAI office in Oshodi for incineration.”
He added, “The Lagos State government @followlasg is reiterating its commitment to ensuring a healthy, cleaner, and safer environment for all Lagosians.”
