Kano: Governor Yusuf Orders Arrest of Deposed Emir Aminu Ado Bayero
In breaking news, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has ordered the arrest of Aminu Ado Bayero, the deposed Emir of Kano, for causing unrest in the state.
Reports indicate that Bayero was clandestinely brought into Kano city last night in a bid to reclaim the palace just two days after his deposition by the Governor.
Mr. Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the Governor’s spokesperson, confirmed that the new Emir, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, arrived at the palace early Saturday morning, accompanied by the Governor, the Deputy Governor, the Speaker of the State Assembly, and other high-ranking officials.
Governor Yusuf, as the state’s Chief Security Officer, instructed the Commissioner of Police to arrest the deposed Emir immediately for disrupting public order and undermining the state’s stability.
