Kano TikTok Personality Murja Kunya Sentenced for Naira Misuse

Popular TikTok content creator from Kano, Murja Kunya, has been handed a six-month jail term for mishandling the Nigerian currency. However, the court provided an option of a ₦50,000 fine as an alternative to serving the sentence.
In addition to the punishment, the court also directed that she be appointed as an ambassador for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), in a move aimed at promoting public awareness about the proper handling of the naira.
