Kcee Fires Back at Flavour: “I’m Not Your Mate, You Don’t Own Our Culture!”

Nigerian artist Kingsley Chinweike Okonkwo, popularly known as Kcee, has addressed allegations from fellow musician Flavour, who implied that Kcee is imitating his musical style.
According to FIRST CLASS GISTS, Flavour recently made a vague online comment about someone mimicking him, which Kcee interpreted as directed at him.
Kcee responded sharply, stating, “Stop trying to gatekeep Igbo culture; you’re not its custodian. I’ve been in this industry longer than you, and our heritage belongs to everyone. You don’t monopolize this genre of music.”
He further emphasized, “My music celebrates our culture, and I have no regrets about that. In the grand scheme of things, you’re just a small part of a much larger picture.”
