Kidnappers of Former NYSC Director-General Maharazu Tsiga Demand ₦250 Million Ransom for His Release

The kidnappers of Retired General Maharazu Tsiga, the former Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), have demanded a ransom of ₦250 million for his release.

General Tsiga was abducted on Wednesday night when a group of over 100 armed men stormed his residence in Katsina State.

Abdullahi Balarabe Dabai, the representative for Bakori/Danja in Katsina State, reported that the attackers surrounded the house and began forcefully breaking down doors. In response, General Tsiga stepped outside to confront the assailants, inquiring about their intentions.

Following the kidnapping, security forces have launched an operation to locate and rescue the former NYSC chief.

A family source, who wished to remain anonymous, informed Daily Trust on Friday that the kidnappers had reached out, demanding ₦250 million as a condition for his safe release.
