Kwara Student Found Dead After Being Paid ₦15,000 for Acting as Allege Killer’s Girlfriend

A 21-year-old final-year student from Kwara State College of Health Technology, Offa, Awesu Mojisola Oluwafunmike, who had recently celebrated her graduation, was discovered dead at a refuse site three weeks after her sign-out ceremony. Mojisola had shared photos and videos from the event before her disappearance on August 9, 2024.

According to Prof. Anifowose Olamilekan, a Kwara lecturer, the deceased’s mother works as a cleaner for the Ogun State Waste Management Agency.

Her roommate, Miss Blessing O, reported that Mojisola received a call on August 9 from a Miss Timileyin, who informed her about a student-organized event at Summit University and Al-Hikmah University in Ilorin. Timileyin introduced Mojisola to Mr. Adebayo Happiness, a student from Summit University, who allegedly offered her ₦15,000 to act as his girlfriend at the event.
Upon arriving in Ilorin, Mojisola told her roommate she felt uneasy at the hotel where Adebayo had lodged her, noting that there was no party as described. Shortly after, her phone was turned off, and Miss Blessing’s attempts to contact her were unsuccessful.
On August 12, 2024, DSP Toun Ejire-Adeyemi of the Kwara State Police Command reported that Olorunoje from the Aleniboro area of Ilorin had discovered Mojisola’s body at a refuse site near Aleniboro. Olorunoje had been informed by laborers while returning from the mosque on August 11.
Ejire-Adeyemi confirmed that a police team was sent to investigate the scene, where they found traces of blood near the deceased’s left ear. The investigation into Mojisola’s death is ongoing.
