Sky Sports news editor Alan Myersclaims that he has not heard Watford central midfielder Yaser Asprilla’s name being mentioned amid Everton links.

The Sunday People reported on 7 July, having described him as “explosive” and “skilful”, that the Toffees were keen on signing the 20-year-old Colombia international.

The Athletic claimed on 4 August that Watford had accepted a £25million+ offer from Rennes but personal terms are still to be agreed.

Myers wrote on X: “Not heard him mentioned tbh.”

With the transfer window closing in a few weeks and Rennes having a bid accepted, the Toffees must act swiftly to secure the services of the talented Colombian midfielder.

The 20-year-old is a young, dynamic player who has already shown his potential at Watford and during the Copa America.

His addition to Everton’s squad would significantly bolster their midfield options and provide much-needed depth and quality.

Personal terms are yet to be agreed upon with the French club which could be an indicator that he’s waiting for other clubs to step in.
