KRAD Speaks Out: Stop the Violence, Build a Better Osun

*Let the Bleeding Stop: KRAD Condemns Violence in Osun, Urges Politicians to Focus on Development*

I am deeply saddened and profoundly concerned by the reports of violence, destruction and loss of lives across parts of Osun State following recent political developments.

The bleeding must stop. No political contest, disagreement, commercial interest or personal ambition is worth the life of any Osun resident. Human life is sacred, and the responsibility of every leader, political, traditional, religious or community, is to protect life and promote peace.

I therefore condemn, in the strongest terms, the violence and acts of lawlessness currently threatening the peace and security of our dear state. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the families of those who have lost loved ones and pray for the swift recovery of those injured.

Osun is a state with a proud history, a rich cultural heritage and a long tradition of enterprise and peaceful coexistence. We must not allow political disagreements or competing interests to destroy the social fabric that binds us together.

I call on the security agencies to act swiftly, professionally and impartially to restore order, protect innocent citizens and bring anyone found responsible for killings, attacks, destruction of property and other criminal acts to justice.

No one should be above the law.
At the same time, I appeal to all political actors and their supporters to exercise restraint. Politics should be about ideas, service and development, not violence, intimidation and vengeance.

Our people are struggling with unemployment, poverty, inadequate infrastructure, insecurity and the rising cost of living. These are the issues that should occupy the attention of politicians and public officials.

The people of Osun need jobs, roads, schools, healthcare, security and economic opportunities. They do not need political violence.

This is the time for leaders to rise above partisan interests and work together to protect the people and the future of the state. Differences can be resolved through dialogue, negotiation and the courts where necessary. Violence can only deepen our problems and leave behind wounds that may take generations to heal.

I particularly urge our young people not to allow themselves to be recruited as instruments of political violence. Your future is more valuable than any temporary political gain.

Do not allow anyone to use your energy, anger or desperation to destroy the very society in which you must live and build your future.

As a candidate for the Osun Central Senatorial District, I remain committed to the pursuit of responsible, people-centred and development-focused politics. I believe that public office must be used to improve the lives of citizens, not to settle personal scores or advance narrow interests.
Let us therefore put an immediate end to the violence.

Let the bleeding stop.

Let us choose dialogue over confrontation, development over destruction, and the future of Osun over the ambitions of individuals.

Osun belongs to all of us. We must protect it together.
