Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri (Adamawa State): Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State recently confirmed the implementation of the new N70,000 minimum wage for civil servants, effective from August 19, 2024. This move underscores his administration’s dedication to enhancing the welfare of state employees.

2. Lucky Aiyedatiwa (Ondo State): Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has committed to the new minimum wage. This was announced on August 6, 2024, through a statement from Mr. Bayo Philip, the Head of Service for Ondo State.
3. Ademola Adeleke (Osun State): Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has also pledged to implement the new wage. As reported by The Nigerian Tribune, Adeleke’s administration is focused on worker welfare, with an official statement made by the Commissioner for Information, Kolapo Alimi, on July 19, 2024.
4. Babatunde Sanwo-Olu (Lagos State): Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu announced on Workers’ Day, May 1, 2024, that his administration would uphold the new minimum wage. Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed on August 10, 2024, that the state had already been paying more than the statutory minimum.
5. Godwin Obaseki (Edo State): Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has already begun paying the N70,000 minimum wage, even prior to its formal adoption. This was confirmed before President Tinubu signed the minimum wage bill into law.

7. Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa State): Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has expressed his intention to pay the new wage, with plans to start soon. His Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs, Comrade Peter Ahemba, made this announcement on August 6, 2024.
8. Babagana Umara Zulum (Borno State): Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has also committed to the new wage. This was disclosed by Inuwa Yusuf, the Borno State chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), during an interview with The Nigerian Tribune on July 21, 2024.
9. Seyi Makinde (Oyo State): Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has confirmed that the N70,000 minimum wage will be implemented without difficulty. This was communicated on July 29, 2024, by his Chief Press Secretary, Sulaimon Olanrewaju, who reiterated the governor’s earlier commitment made during the 2024 Workers’ Day celebration.
