Mbah Targets 2 Million Members as Enugu APC Launches E-Registration Drive

Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has announced that the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state aims to register at least two million members, signaling an end to the era of fragmented politics that kept Enugu sidelined from the benefits of federal governance. He made the declaration during the official flag-off of the APC e-registration exercise in Owo, Nkanu East Local Government Area on Thursday.

Mbah described the e-registration as a historic step in consolidating the party’s growth and strengthening its presence in Enugu. “A few months ago, we decided to embrace partnership and progress, stepping away from politics that keeps us on the margins. We no longer want to sit on the sidelines. We aim to be at the centre of governance and play a leading role,” he said. The governor emphasized that registering two million members would ensure that Enugu’s voice is respected at all levels of government, reflecting the commitment of the people to the APC.
Highlighting the inclusiveness of the initiative, Mbah stressed that the move from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to APC in October 2025 was not about sidelining anyone but about strengthening the party and making it more effective for the people. “Our goal is to engage everyone, accommodate all voices, and grow our membership responsibly. This is about ensuring transparency, discipline, and participation at every level—from the community to the state,” he added.
Mbah also assured that the grassroots would benefit directly from President Bola Tinubu’s programs, especially the Renewed Hope Ward Development Programme, which is designed to empower millions and improve living standards across the state. Supporting him, Deputy National Chairman (South) of APC, Chief Emma Eneukwu, and Dr. Ben Nwoye, Chairman of the Enugu APC Caretaker Committee, described the e-registration as a modernization of the party’s membership system, aligning it with 21st-century technology and governance practices.
