Nasarawa: Police Apprehend Four Suspected Burglars, Recover Stolen Items
In Nasarawa state, police officers have arrested four individuals suspected of breaking into an electronics shop and stealing various items. The state’s police public relations officer, Ramhan Nansel, announced this in a press statement on Sunday.
Nansel reported that on June 1, 2023, at around 8:00 AM, a complaint was filed at the A Division in Lafia regarding a burglary at an electronics store located in Rimi Uku, Lafia, during which several items were stolen.
Following the complaint, the police initiated an investigation, which resulted in the arrest of four suspects linked to the incident. The suspects, identified as Sa’ad Kashina (24), Bawa Saidu (30), Sagir Mohammed (28), and Isiaka Mohammed (20), all residents of Doma and Lafia, were apprehended. The police recovered four Kapital solar batteries and two 32-inch LG television sets from them.
During questioning, the suspects admitted to selling four laptops, which were part of the stolen goods, in Makurdi, Benue State, for thirty thousand Naira.
Additionally, the Masaka Division received a report of another theft involving Bissan Mark, a resident of Angwan Mission, Masaka. Upon searching his residence, police found a locally made revolver pistol and a knife.
The commissioner of police, Umar Shehu Nadada, has instructed the divisional police officers to thoroughly investigate these cases and ensure the suspects are promptly prosecuted.
