No Fulani,No Benue: They Are killing Us Everyday, Benue State Governor Is Doing Nothing, Enough is Enough__Oba Ogede

It’s unfortunate that in Benue, we often find ourselves focusing on distractions while ignoring the real issues at hand. We remain silent while our people are dying every day. We are in a state of denial, accepting the violence as part of our reality.

Yes, some claim that the Governor is taking action, but does that excuse the fact that he’s not speaking out or doing more to address the ongoing crisis in Benue? The killings continue daily. If we all perish, who will benefit from the infrastructure projects he’s building? Who will use the roads and underpasses?

I’ve yet to see a press conference from the Governor where he addresses the people of Benue about the killings in the state. This silence speaks volumes—it suggests that those in power, especially within the APC, may know more about these killings than they’re letting on, and they’re choosing not to intervene.

Some people might shout, “No ALIA, no BENUE.” But the real slogan should be, “No FULANI, no BENUE.”

More than 20 people are dying daily—how long will this continue before we ask ourselves how many of us are left in Benue?

There are many who remain silent because they have personal connections to power—whether their family is in charge of the toll gates or collecting revenue, or they hold positions as Special Advisers. It’s clear that even the traditional leaders, once our voices of truth, are now tainted by politics and have lost their integrity. Some of them have betrayed us, even selling us out to the herders.

My brother went to school and never made it back. Our parents went to the farm or market and were murdered. Tomorrow, the Governor might travel to the UK to attract investments, but for whom? Are we investing in death? Are we content with mass burials every day?

The Nigerian government is failing us. President Asiwaju’s leadership has been a disaster, and as long as these killings persist in Benue and across Nigeria, without any meaningful action from our Governor, then he’s doing nothing for us.

The situation in Benue is in chaos, and our Governor is nowhere to be found.

My name is Oba Ogede, and I’m exhausted from the continuous killings in my state, Benue, and across Nigeria. I’ve lost almost all my loved ones, and I’m done remaining silent.

Enough is enough.
