The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress APC has commended the Nigeria Police Command over its proactive approach to maintain law and order towards the resumption of the faction of the National Union of Local Government Employees(NULGE) whose members have been on sympathy abscondment from duty with Governor Ademola Adeleke for the past eleven months under the leadership of Dr. Kehinde Nathaniel Ogungbangbe.

The police approach to the issue of the resumption of the absconding local government workers is a demonstration of professional zeal which is a necessary attribute in a genuine democratic dispensation.

We are not unmindful of the superlative constitutional roles of the Nigeria Police and other sister statutory security services who have been keeping peace at the various local government council areas since the reinstatement of the APC council chairmen and councillors by the Court of Appeal on the 10th of February, 2025.

We are not in doubt that the untoward episode which led to the needless gruesome murder of one of the reinstated local government council chairmen, Hon Remi Abass, of Irewole Local Government Council Area of the state, by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) political thugs would be timeously addressed by the ever-vigilant and Eagle-eyed men and officers of the statutory security services.

Our party shall be eternally grateful to the police and the sister security services for always upholding the rules of law in performing their duties with verifiable diligence which has been the reason all the local government council areas across the state under the watch of the APC reinstated chairmen and councillors have been at peace since 10th February, 2025.

While we are commending the reinstated chairmen and councillors for being resolute in the course of running the affairs of the council, we are also appealing to them to receive the returnee council workers with an open hand within the limit of the rules and regulations guiding their engagement.

We are also assuring the good people of Osun State that since the absconding council workers have changed over a new leaf, the development would translate to the rapid development at the grassroots level of government in the state in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

We are also using this forum as a party to show our gratitude to President Tinubu in his total belief and embracing of a total autonomy for the running of council administration across the nation.
