OGUN 2027: GNI, Biodun Akinlade, and Others Endorse YAYI as Gubernatorial Candidate to Succeed Governor Dapo Abiodun
OPEN LETTER TO H.E. GOVERNOR DAPO ABIODUN (CON)

Your Excellency,
On October 12, 2027, a historic moment unfolded in Abeokuta as Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, representing Ogun West, returned to his maternal home at Kemta-Odutolu. He was warmly welcomed by over five hundred family members and local elders, showcasing the strong support he commands.
The visit culminated in a gathering with High Chief Ifalola Aregbesola, Baale of Kemta, where thousands celebrated his homecoming. This event illustrates the profound respect and affection the people have for him, a testament to his achievements and the blessings he brings to the community.
Recent surveys indicate that the Yewa/Awori people, along with local Obas and Baales, have embraced Senator Adeola as a trusted leader, acknowledging his significant contributions to infrastructure development over the past sixteen months. He stands as a proud representative of both the Egba and Yewa/Awori communities and is recognized as a champion of transformative constituency projects.
We, the indigenes of Egba/Yewa/Awori, affirm that Senator Adeola hails from the Isaga-Yewa lineage on his paternal side and Kemta-Odutolu on his maternal side. Political leaders from Imeko-Afon, Yewa South, Ipokia, Yewa North, and Ado-Odo Ota have united in presenting him as the next Chief Executive for Ogun State.
The purpose of this letter is to express our admiration for your ongoing commitment to our state, aligning with the rapid development seen across Nigeria. Your leadership style, reminiscent of the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo, is indeed commendable.
You have successfully demonstrated that Ogun State is more than the negative perceptions held by some. Your efforts have laid a solid foundation for progress, and your appointment as chairman of the Southern Governors’ Forum reflects your dedication and achievements, including:
1. Gateway Inland Dry Port
2. Extensive housing projects
3. Industrial advancements
4. Numerous road improvements
5. Construction of healthcare facilities
6. Designation of Ogun State as a frontier for oil exploration
7. The launch of the 70 km Abeokuta-Ota road project
8. Implementation of a minimum wage of N77,000
These accomplishments clearly show your vision for a prosperous future for Ogun State, one that requires a qualified successor to sustain this momentum.
We, the Egba, Yewa, and Awori people, extend our heartfelt gratitude for endorsing such an exemplary leader in Senator Olamilekan Adeola, who has achieved unprecedented milestones as a representative of Ogun West.
As we look towards the future, it is imperative that Ogun State is led by a trustworthy and capable leader. We believe Senator Adeola is that individual, equipped with the vision and experience to uphold your legacy and propel our state to new heights.
It is critical to choose a successor who shares your commitment to transparency and progress, rather than those who have shown a lack of effectiveness in past roles. History has shown that political loyalty can often lead to betrayal, and we must ensure that our next leader is one who is both qualified and prepared to continue your vision for Ogun State.
Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola stands out due to his extensive political experience and understanding of Ogun’s dynamics. He is adept at fostering collaboration and innovation, qualities essential for effective governance.
We urge you to consider this perspective as you decide on your successor. Senator Adeola is ready to lead Ogun State, ensuring that the state remains a beacon of development and opportunity for all.
Let us not be misled by empty promises; instead, let’s rally behind a leader who has consistently demonstrated the capability to lead with integrity and compassion, following in your esteemed footsteps.
We formally declare the gubernatorial ambitions of Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu from Ogun East as unconstitutional. The path forward for Ogun State lies with Senator Olamilekan Adeola, who embodies the best qualities of leadership needed to succeed your administration.
Signed:
