Osun  2026: APC Youths Declare Total Support as Bola Oyebamiji Promises Youth-Focused Government

…says APC remains committed in winning guber poll

…as APC youths reaffirm support

The gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the forthcoming governorship election in Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji popularly called AMBO on Sunday declared his readiness to run all inclusive, participatory and youth friendly government if elected Governor this year.

Oyebamiji reassured that the opposition party remains committed to win the forthcoming governorship election and return to government this year.

This is even as the APC youth leaders across the three Senatorial Districts in the state reaffirmed their unflinching support to Oyebamiji’s candidacy saying “we will work round the clock to ensure victory for APC come August 8th, 2026 gubernatorial election”

Recall that Oyebamiji has been irrevocably committed and making deliberate moves and concerted efforts through genuine reconciliatory moves to bring everyone on board in the project to return the party to government this year.

Speaking at the Special Youth Programme, organized at the instance of the APC youth leaders across the three Senatorial Districts for a genuine reconciliation, held at APC State Secretariat, Osogbo, Oyebamiji disclosed his commitment to prioritize the welfare and general well-being of the people particularly youth segment of the population when elected Governor of Osun.

He said if elected Governor, his administration will design policies and programmes that would bring drastic change and transform lives of the youth positively by making them more actively involved in governance and scheme of things as such that every youth will be able to contribute significantly and productively to the growth and development of the state.

The APC gubernatorial candidate, while commending the party’s youths across the state, extolled the rare commitment, loyalty, resilience, dedication and forthrightness exhibited by the APC youths all along, described them as the “soul of the party”

He promised to support the party youths in the collective efforts to return the party to power this year.

“There is no doubting the fact that youth remains the most vibrant, energetic and productive segment and elements of the population in any society, hence the need to support them and provide enabling environment for them to thrive. It has been established that the demographic of the past election results had shown clearly that youth population participated largely as this further attested to the vibrancy and indispensable value of the youth.

“Be rest assured that when elected Governor, the incoming administration under my watch is going to be for youths. From the time immemorial, particularly from the Awolowo’s era, youths in the progressive party have been very active and productive, and i can assure you that there will be special programmes for youths. I am going to run an open, transparent, masses-focused, youth-friendly and all inclusive and participatory government where every citizen matters”, Oyebamiji reassured.

He implored the youths particularly APC loyalists in the state to own the project, as he remains committed to making lives more meaningful and worthwhile when he becomes Osun State Governor.

“We shouldn’t relent in our efforts to ensure the return of progressive party to government this year. No doubting the fact that God has been very supportive and merciful to us, i can say it categorically that today, we have goal post without goalkeeper, all we need is to ensure that we work genuinely and relentlessly through house-to-house and door-to-door campaigns and mobilizations. As i used to say, we do not have competitors, because we have God and He has been so kind to us. Members of the ruling party have been lying to people here and there, but i am glad that the people of the state are aware of their lies , the entire world knows their failures.

“On our part, we are going to support you, give you needed resources because we are serious about returning to government this year. Don’t panic, no one can harm you, all they could do is to be talking around, they are doing that to themselves not God. Our God is with us. We are law abiding citizens and we will do all within the provisions of the law to ascertain victory. It can’t be business as usual.

“Let’s rededicate ourselves to this cause and i am sure we will get support. We will get support from within and outside. All the existing structures all over the world will support us in reciprocation of the good works of our President. You will have our support, we are going to dedicate ourselves to you, we are going to responsible to you, we are going to be reliable and we appeal to you to deliver. I am going to run youth friendly government no doubt. We will do all to ensure that you benefit largely from our government.

“I commend you for this laudable programme aimed at reuniting our people. I commend our overall leader, the former Governor of our dear state, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola, Chief Adebisi Akande, Chairman of our party, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, Chairman APC Elder’s Council, Engr. Sola Akinwumi among others for their unflinching support for the party”, Oyebamiji added.

Earlier, the APC State Youth Leader, Hon. Goke Akinwemimo, described the choice of Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji as a perfect and widely acceptable decision that has shattered the expectations of the opposition, who predicted division and failure within the party.

Akinwemimo who acknowledged the tremendous contributions of the party’s youths said “I’m pleased to report that today, in Nigeria and particularly in the South-West, the Osun APC youth structure remains the most united and formidable in the struggle to reclaim our state”

” Since 2022, when we were denied victory through orchestrated electoral irregularities, our youths have remained resilient, active, and well-organised under the leadership of our party. They have embraced the ideals of the APC and continue to attract defectors across party lines. I can confidently assure you that this momentum will be sustained until we return to Bola Ige House this year. I appeal to all party members, especially the youths who supported various aspirants during the primaries, that the contest is now over, the real battle before us is to defeat the incumbent administration and we must remain united, focused, and even more resilient than ever. This struggle concerns all of us; it is about our future, our destiny, and the prosperity of Osun State. The opportunity before us is clear, and we must not miss it”, Akinwemimo added.

Speaking in turns, Osun West APC Youth Leader, Hon. Imran Mojeed, Hon. Akeem Lawal, Hon. Olayemi Sarafa, Hon. Oluwatoyin Oyedokun, Hon. Akeem Adeyi said the party’s youths remained resolute to work for the success of the party in the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
