“People Focus on My Boobs, Not My Talent” — Actress Queeneth Agbor Speaks Out

Nollywood actress Queeneth Agbor has spoken candidly about the challenges that come with public perception in the entertainment industry, revealing that her physical appearance sometimes overshadows her acting abilities.
In a recent interview, the actress explained that audiences occasionally focus more on her body than on the roles she portrays on screen. According to The Punch, Agbor admitted that this often happens in films where her character is styled in revealing outfits.
“In some cases, yes, it happens,” she said. “Especially when I play roles where my character wears revealing clothes. People tend to focus more on my boobs rather than the message the character is trying to deliver.”
Beyond discussing her experiences in the film industry, the actress also addressed the growing concern over false rape allegations, stressing that such accusations can cause serious harm to both the accused and genuine survivors of sexual assault.
She warned that the issue should never be treated lightly, noting that the consequences of a false allegation can be devastating.
“It’s very disturbing that some people treat rape allegations like a joke. False accusations can ruin reputations and create severe emotional and psychological distress for everyone involved,” Agbor said, according to The Guardian Nigeria.
The actress further argued that individuals who deliberately make false claims of sexual assault should face serious legal consequences. She suggested that the punishment for intentionally making such allegations should reflect the seriousness of the crime being falsely reported.
Agbor also criticised the growing trend of people exploiting tragic events on social media simply to gain attention or increase engagement online.
According to The Nation Newspaper, she explained that many users deliberately share emotionally charged or shocking stories because such content often attracts more visibility on digital platforms.
“People use tragedies to trend online because emotional or shocking content tends to attract attention quickly. It leads to more engagement, shares and reposts, which are exactly what social media algorithms push,” she said.
The actress emphasised the need for greater responsibility when discussing sensitive issues online, urging the public to consider the real-life consequences such narratives can have on individuals.
Agbor, who has featured in several Nollywood productions, continues to advocate for more responsible storytelling both in the entertainment industry and on social media platforms.
