Peter Obi Receives Rousing Welcome in The Gambia Ahead of African Leadership Conference
Former Peter Obi, Nigeria’s 2023 presidential candidate, received an enthusiastic reception upon arriving at Banjul International Airport in The Gambia on March 9, 2026.

The former governor of Anambra State was greeted by a large crowd of supporters and admirers who gathered at the airport to welcome him. Videos circulating online showed a lively atmosphere as well-wishers cheered, took photographs, and recorded videos while trying to greet the visiting Nigerian politician.
