Peter Odili Declares Support for Fubara, Calls Him Rivers State’s Political Leader

Former Rivers State Governor, Dr. Peter Odili, has pledged his full support to Governor Siminalayi Fubara amid the ongoing political tensions in the state. Speaking at an event in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, Odili reassured Fubara that the people of Rivers remain firmly behind him and encouraged him to stay resolute.
“Your people are with you,” Odili said. “They want you to know that you are the political leader of Rivers State. Wherever you go, they will go; wherever you stand, they will stand. You are on solid ground—hold firm and trust in God.” His comments come in the wake of renewed friction between Governor Fubara and the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, highlighting the intensifying political contest in the state.
