Linus Williams, widely known as BLord, a crypto billionaire, has been taken into custody by the Nigeria Police Force.
BLord was detained in Abuja on Tuesday following accusations related to cryptocurrency fraud, financing terrorism, and assisting internet fraud among other charges against his businesses.
In a conversation with our correspondent, Force spokesperson Muyiwa Adejobi confirmed the arrest and cited complaints against BLord’s companies as the cause.
Adejobi stated, “Yes, we have him with us. The FCID (NPF-NCCC) is currently investigating complaints lodged against Blord Group, Blord Real Estate Ltd, Blord Jetpaye Limited, and Billpoint Technology.”
He outlined the allegations as including cryptocurrency fraud, aiding internet fraud, computer-related fraud, terrorism funding, and non-compliance with regulatory frameworks.
“We will conduct a thorough investigation. Ensuring the security of our cyberspace is paramount. We are dedicated to achieving that,” Adejobi added.
He also clarified that BLord’s arrest was not linked to a petition from Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan.
