Police arrest 31 drug suspects in Gombe

No fewer than 31 suspects have been arrested by Gombe State Police Command during its crackdown on criminal hideouts.
Disclosing this on Thursday, the Public Relations Officer, ASP Mahid Abubakar, said the Gombe Divisional Police headquarters, through its Patrol 999 team, conducted a raid on black spots within the community where they were arrested.
He explained that the Crackdown on Black spots led to arrests and recovery of suspected hard drugs.
According to him, “In a concerted effort to uphold public safety and combat illicit activities, at approximately 10:00 PM, the team, led by diligent officers, apprehended nine individuals suspected to be involved in illegal drug-related activities. Among the confiscated items were dry leaves believed to be Indian hemp and exol/yellow tablets suspected to be hard drugs.”
Abubakar listed the arrested suspects to include Muhammad Mamuda Abubakar, aged 19; Abba Sani, aged 22; Ismail Usman, aged 19; Abba Dama Sadiq, aged 19; Isah Muhammad, aged 25; Aminu Ibrahim, aged 25; Sani Ali, aged 21; Babayo Lawan, aged 20; Usman Muhammad, aged 40.
Explaining further, he urged the public to remain vigilant and cooperative, as collaborative efforts were crucial in ensuring a safer and more secure environment for all, adding that in a similar operation, over 22 suspects were arrested by the same team.
