Oyo State police have apprehended two suspects in connection with the gruesome murder of a 62-year-old woman in the state capital. The tragic incident, which occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, has sent shockwaves through the local community.

According to a statement by the Oyo State Police Command, the suspects were arrested following a swift investigation and community tip-offs. The victim, identified as Mrs. Funke Adebowale, was reportedly found lifeless in her home with signs of violent attack. Authorities confirmed that preliminary investigations suggest robbery may have been a motive.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Olugbenga Fadeyi, stated, “Our detectives worked tirelessly to apprehend the suspects. The duo is now in police custody, and we are conducting further interrogations to ascertain the full circumstances surrounding this heinous crime.”

Neighbors described Mrs. Adebowale as a kind and respected member of the community, expressing disbelief over the violent act. “She was always helping people in the neighborhood. We are all shocked,” one resident lamented.

The suspects are expected to be arraigned in court once investigations are completed. Meanwhile, the police have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to law enforcement agencies.
