Rivers State is witnessing heightened political tension following a crisis within the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state. Officers from the Nigeria Police have taken control of the PDP state secretariat to maintain order.

This action comes in the wake of the dismissal of PDP members loyal to the FCT Minister from key leadership positions in the state party. The leadership has now been temporarily assumed by those aligned with Governor Sim Fubara, with Hon. Robinson Ewor appointed as the acting Chairman.
