MINNA – With concerns about potential disruptions rising among residents, the Niger State Police Command has announced its readiness to ensure the safety of lives and property during Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day celebrations.
In anticipation of the October 1st event, State Police Commissioner Mr. Shawulu Ebenezer Danmamman has instructed Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders, and DPOs to increase police visibility in their respective jurisdictions to prevent any disturbances.
A press release from Public Relations Officer SP Wasiu A. Abiodun, on behalf of the Commissioner, indicated that proactive discussions have taken place with labor leaders, trade unions, youth groups, and other key stakeholders to promote peace and harmony during the celebrations.
The statement emphasized that sustainable development cannot flourish in an environment lacking peace. It highlighted that a stable atmosphere is crucial for the economic growth and overall development of the state.
“Collective efforts are vital; together, we will maintain a peaceful environment for businesses to thrive,” the statement concluded.
Wishing all Nigerlites a joyous Independence celebration, the Police Commissioner urged everyone to reject violence, reassuring that the police, in collaboration with other security agencies, will firmly address any threats to public order.
