President Tinubu is a poor man, my house is better than his Bourdillon house__ VP Shettima

Vice President Kashim Shettima has urged Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu as he works to address the nation’s socio-political, economic, and security challenges. Speaking at the launch of Professor Modupe Adelabu’s book, Navigating the Politics of Universal Education Policies in Nigeria, Shettima described President Tinubu’s modest lifestyle, contrasting it with the public perception of his wealth.

Shettima emphasized that President Tinubu deserves the nation’s trust and highlighted his commitment to leaving a positive legacy rather than pursuing personal wealth. He recounted his initial visit to Tinubu’s residence in Bourdillon, where he expected a grand mansion but found it unremarkable compared to his own home in Maiduguri. Shettima noted Tinubu’s simple preferences, such as choosing garri with groundnut for lunch over a variety of meals served during meetings, and his consistent use of a single wristwatch.

Shettima acknowledged the difficult state of the economy inherited from the previous administration and stressed that overcoming these challenges requires unity and support for the President. He assured that the economy is on a path to recovery due to the President’s decisive actions, including significant reforms. Despite ongoing challenges, including security issues and food shortages, Shettima expressed optimism that positive changes are on the horizon and called on Nigerians to support President Tinubu through these transformative times.
