Primate Ayodele Advises Victor Osimhen To Avoid Chelsea; Give Reasons

Primate Elijah Ayodele, the founder of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has advised Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen to avoid a transfer to Chelsea, suggesting it could hinder his career. In a brief video posted on social media, Ayodele warned that joining the London club would not be beneficial for Osimhen.
“I strongly advise Osimhen against moving to Chelsea. If he goes there, he will not succeed and it could negatively impact his career,” Ayodele stated.
He further cautioned the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), saying, “If Osimhen moves to Chelsea, reconsider his selection for the Super Eagles. We have the potential to excel in the World Cup and Nations Cup.”
This is not the first time Ayodele has criticized Chelsea. In 2023, he claimed that the club was under a curse and needed spiritual cleansing to improve their fortunes.
“Chelsea is a club in decline. If they do not address their situation, they may struggle significantly,” he asserted. “Even if they sign top players, there is a curse affecting the club. They need spiritual intervention to overcome their current challenges.”
Chelsea is reportedly keen on signing Osimhen, who is a top target after their pursuit of Atletico Madrid’s Samuel Omorodion fell through. The Nigerian striker, who has been impressive with Napoli, is on Chelsea’s radar for the 2024/25 season.
Osimhen has attracted interest from several top European clubs, including Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, and Liverpool. However, his high €130 million price tag has deterred some suitors, leaving Chelsea as the primary contender. With the transfer window closing soon, Napoli is working hard to finalize a deal, with Chelsea still eager to secure his services.
