Prof. Andrew Ifemidayo Akinmoladun: The People’s choice, Ready to Serve Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency

In times when leadership calls for honesty, experience, and true connection with the people, one man stands tall, Professor Andrew Ifemidayo Akinmoladun, a proud indigene of Ipetu-Ijesa, Oriade South LCDA in Osun State. A man of deep intellect, strong character, and unwavering dedication, Prof. Akinmoladun has answered the call to represent the good people of Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
A Life Rooted in Education and Service
Born on February 21, 1960, into the respected family of Chief M.M. Akinmoladun and Chief (Mrs.) Janet Akinmoladun, Prof. Akinmoladun’s journey began in Ipetu-Ijesa, where he attended African Primary School and Ipetu-Ijesa Grammar School. He continued his education at the Oyo State College of Education, Ilesa (now Osun State College of Education), where he was not only one of the pioneer students in the School of Technical Education but also served as the Public Relations Officer (P.R.O.) of the Students’ Union.
With a deep hunger for knowledge, he moved to the United States and studied at the City College of the City University of New York, where he earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees with honors. His brilliance earned him a teaching position at the Bronx Community College, where he rose from Assistant Professor to become a Tenured Professor of Telecommunication Technology in 2005.
A Strong Voice for Community Development
Beyond academics, Prof. Akinmoladun is known for his passion for community growth. Through his Irapada Movement, he has touched countless lives in Osun State by supporting education and grassroots development projects. He has also shown firm commitment to the APC, both morally and financially, without having held any political office or receiving appointments. He once fully sponsored candidates during a local government election and has always stood by party members.
The People’s Choice in Ipetu-Ijesa and Beyond
Ipetu-Ijesa, the largest town by population and landmass in the federal constituency, stands solidly behind their own. With 52 surrounding villages and a long record of backing their native sons at the polls, the support for Prof. Akinmoladun is not only emotional but strategic. During the last APC primary election, his supporters were visible across every ward in Obokun and Oriade.
Recognizing his wide acceptance and leadership strength, all other aspirants from Ipetu-Ijesa have stepped down in unity to support him. His influence also stretches to his maternal hometown, Ikeji-Arakeji, where thousands have pledged their support if he emerges as the APC candidate.
A True Party Man, A Reliable Leader
Prof. Akinmoladun has shown loyalty to the APC through thick and thin. He has never enjoyed political appointment or personal benefits from the party, yet he continues to contribute financially and morally. This is the mark of a man driven not by personal gain, but by a desire to serve.
His candidacy is not just about Ipetu-Ijesa; it is about a federal constituency that needs a strong, educated, accessible, and development-focused leader. His wide network across the constituency and the overwhelming support from both towns and villages are a sure foundation for victory, if given the APC ticket.
A Winning Formula for the APC
History has shown that whenever Ipetu-Ijesa produces a candidate, the community rallies behind them with one voice, regardless of party leanings. Though often regarded as a PDP stronghold, when an APC candidate from Ipetu-Ijesa emerges, the tide always turns. This makes Prof. Akinmoladun not only a popular choice but also a winnable candidate.
Prof. Andrew Ifemidayo Akinmoladun is not a new face. He is a tested leader, an accomplished scholar, a compassionate community builder, and a trusted son of the soil. The APC has a rare opportunity to field a man who checks all the boxes: credibility, capacity, grassroots support, and integrity.
The time has come for Obokun/Oriade to be represented by a man who understands governance, values people, and is truly committed to service.
Prof. Andrew Ifemidayo Akinmoladun is ready. Let us give him the chance.
