Protest Escalation: Hon. Nazifi Sani’s Home Set Ablazed by Angry Youths in Jigawa State (Video)

In a significant escalation of the #EndBadGovernance protests in Nigeria, the residence of Hon. Nazifi Sani, the federal representative for the Gumel/Maigatari/Sule-Tankarkar/Gagarwa constituency in Jigawa State, was set on fire by enraged youths.

The protests, which have spread nationwide, stem from widespread frustration over economic hardships and a severe hunger crisis, which many attribute to ineffective government policies. The attack on Hon. Sani’s home came as part of a broader expression of anger over alleged financial mismanagement.

Despite curfews imposed in several northern states affected by the protests and ongoing appeals for calm from authorities, unrest continues. Protesters, especially in the north, are demanding accountability and substantial reforms. Many have criticized the president’s address on August 4, 2024, for failing to meet their expectations.

As the #EndBadGovernance movement gathers strength, the Nigerian government is under increasing pressure to address citizens’ grievances and enact significant reforms.
