Protesters Seize Federal Secretariat in Abuja Amid Heavy Security Response

ABUJA – In Abuja, thousands of demonstrators have taken control of the Federal Secretariat Complex after being barred from entering Eagle Square by security forces, who responded with a barrage of tear gas canisters.
Undaunted by the aggressive tactics, the protesters have regrouped at the Finance Junction on Ahmadu Bello Way, where their numbers continue to swell with the support of local residents.
Despite a significant security presence, the crowd is gaining strength and poses a growing challenge to the forces deployed. Although no firearms have been discharged, the protesters remain resolute in their efforts to be heard.
The unrest, driven by widespread frustration over economic struggles and hunger, shows no sign of diminishing. The use of tear gas by security forces appears to have only intensified the protesters’ resolve, with increasing numbers joining the demonstration as time passes.
As the situation evolves, there are mounting concerns about the possibility of further escalation.
