Reasons Reno Omokri Criticizes El-Rufai, Accuses Him of Spreading False Narratives Against Tinubu’s Government

Reno Omokri
Reno Omokri has criticized former Kaduna Governor Nasir el-Rufai, accusing him of spreading misleading propaganda about President Bola Tinubu’s administration. Omokri claims that el-Rufai is using tactics similar to those he employed to undermine former President Goodluck Jonathan, particularly when a Southern president is in power.
Omokri questioned why el-Rufai resorts to such tactics only when a Southern leader occupies the presidency, pointing out that el-Rufai’s efforts helped oust Jonathan but failed to improve the lives of Nigerians.
He dismissed claims of a “Yorubanisation” of government under Tinubu as baseless and manipulative. Omokri emphasized that such accusations, often echoed alongside narratives from Niger’s military junta leader Abdourahmane Tchiani, are part of a coordinated campaign with no factual backing.
He challenged those pushing the “Yorubanisation” narrative to provide concrete data, citing key government agencies to debunk the claims. Omokri pointed out that several top federal agencies, such as the Nigerian Communications Commission, Nigerian Maritime Administration, and Nigerian Deposit Insurance Corporation, are led by individuals from diverse regions, with only two agencies headed by people from the Southwest.
In a direct challenge to the critics, Omokri asked: “Where is the Yorubanisation?” urging Nigerians to question such unfounded accusations that risk undermining national unity and stability.
