Religion Will Never Divide Us” — AMBO Vows Equal Rights, Harmony and Prosperity for Every Osun Resident

The Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Osun state, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji popularly called AMBO has reiterated that his administration would remain resolute and committed to religious harmony, peaceful coexistence, inclusive and participatory government if elected Governor come August 15th, 2026 gubernatorial election in Osun state.

Oyebamiji noted that the government under his watch will be fair to all adherents of faiths regardless of socioeconomic status and religious affiliations.

AMBO reassured that his administration would partner with faith-based organisations, traditional institutions, civil society groups as well as the private sector “in building a prosperous, secure and united Osun State.”

Oyebamiji spoke on Sunday at the Living Faith Church headquarters, popularly called Winners Chapel, Osogbo, Osun state.

The APC governorship candidate who led members of the Osun 2026 Governorship Campaign Council including his running mate, Engr. Benjamin Kayode Adereti, the Director General, Osun APC Governorship Campaign Council, Hon. Oluwole Oke, former Secretary to the State Government, Prince Oluwole Oyebamiji, National Commissioner, Federal Civil Service Commission, Dr. Festus Oyebade Olowogboyega, Executive Director, Project Implementation, Federal Housing Authority, Hon. Oluremi Omowaiye, former Governorship Aspirant, Hon. Kayode Oduoye, Chairman/CEO Peculiar Ultimate Concerns Limited, Engr. Olanrewaju Adeleke and his wife, Barrister Adeleke, Executive Director, Marine Operations, Engr Lekan Badmus, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Protocol, Ambassador Issah Niniola, former Federal Lawmaker, Hon. Taiwo Oluga, Hon. Mojeed Fasasi (Soludero), former House of Assembly lawmaker, Hon. Wasiu Adebayo, Hon. Wasiu Abiona, among others, reaffirmed his readiness to run the affairs of the state with the fear of God.

Oyebamiji whose speech took relevant verses in the holy scripture encouraged members of the congregation not to distant themselves from politics and governance saying “politics is one of the legitimate avenues through which we can promote justice, equity, peace and development.”

” It is only by His grace that we are alive and able to gather in His presence today.

The Holy Scriptures remind us that “Righteousness exalts a nation” (Proverbs 14:34). This is why I wish to encourage every child of God not to distance himself or herself from governance. Politics is one of the legitimate avenues through which we can promote justice, equity, peace and development.

“Christians should participate actively by voting, offering constructive ideas, praying for leaders and, where called, seeking elective or appointive offices.

As citizens, we all have a responsibility to elect leaders based on competence, integrity, character, vision and capacity to serve, not on sentiment, ethnicity or religious affiliation alone”, he added.

According to him, democracy flourishes when citizens make informed choices and insist on accountable leadership, and the responsibility of citizens does not end on election day.

“Those elected into office must continually be held accountable. Good governance thrives when the people monitor public institutions, ask questions, demand transparency and ensure that public resources are used for the common good.

“

The Bible provides inspiring examples of faithful believers who served God while occupying positions of leadership. Joseph administered Egypt with wisdom; Daniel served successive governments with integrity; Esther influenced government decisions to save her people; Nehemiah rebuilt Jerusalem with vision; and King David demonstrated that leadership is a sacred trust under God.

“Permit me to also say that although I am a Muslim, I firmly believe in the constitutional principles upon which our nation is founded. Nigeria belongs to all of us. Our Constitution guarantees freedom of religion and equal rights for every citizen. By the grace of God, if entrusted with the responsibility of governing Osun State, I shall govern strictly in accordance with the Constitution, the rule of law, fairness, justice and equity.

“Every citizen, Christian, Muslim or adherent of any other faith will enjoy equal protection, equal opportunity and equal respect”, Oyebamiji affirmed.
