Rep distributes foodstuffs to constituents, says Nigeria is in a great mess

George Adegeye
The lawmaker representing the Amuwo-Odofin Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, George Adegeye, has doled out 683 bags of rice, vegetable oil, salt, and cash gifts to his constituents and party faithful.
Adegeye said it was his way of giving back to the constituents who gave him the mandate to represent them, adding that it would alleviate the suffering of many who could not afford to feed.
“It is my own little way of giving back to my community. It is the festive period, and this is just a way to give back to the people.
“A bag of rice is now N57,000 in the market and the one distributed here is imported rice; 683 bags in all. The country is hard, everybody knows that. People are hungry, so, we need to find one way or the other to cater to their needs,” a statement quoted him to have said.
The lawmaker urged other Nigerians of means to reach out to the underprivileged near them in order to make the festive period memorable for them.
“Honestly, the country is in a mess; imagine the inflation rate; we should find a way to play our own role in giving succour to people. I wish them a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in advance,” Adegeye said.
