Rivers Assembly Gives Governor Fubara 48 Hours Ultimatum To Present 2025 Budget

The Rivers State House of Assembly has issued a 48-hour ultimatum for Governor Sim Fubara to submit the 2025 budget to the legislature.
This decision was made during a plenary session in Port Harcourt on Monday.
According to News360 Nigeria, a heavy security presence, including officials from the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigeria Police Force, was seen at the Rivers State House of Assembly Quarters, the location of the meeting.
Armed security personnel were strategically positioned around the Assembly Quarters on Monday morning.
The increased security measures come shortly after the Supreme Court’s ruling in favor of Speaker Amaewhule and his team, instructing them to resume legislative activities following a prolonged power struggle for control of the Assembly.
