Rivers Deputy Governor Ngozi Odu Joins APC, Strengthening Party’s Grip in the State

Rivers State Deputy Governor, Ngozi Odu, has officially joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), becoming the latest high-ranking state official to leave the opposition.
Odu completed her APC registration at her polling unit in Akabuka, located in the Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni area. Following the registration, she joined party supporters in singing the campaign anthem, *“On Your Mandate We Shall Stand,”* closely associated with President Bola Tinubu’s message and the party’s agenda.
Her defection comes shortly after Governor Siminalayi Fubara switched allegiance to the APC following a meeting with President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, a move that has shifted political dynamics in the oil-rich state.
Rivers APC Chairman, Tony Okocha, officiated Odu’s registration in line with directives from the party’s national secretariat. At the national level, APC Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda appointed Fubara as the party’s leader in Rivers, further solidifying the APC’s organizational structure and influence in the state.
